One of Hollands’ first (Indo) Rock & Roll bands, still alive and rocking. Since 1958 Rene Nodelijk is involved in the Dutch Rock ‘n’ Roll scene. From 1958 he played in the Rockin’ Sensation Boys and in 1960 he started his own band ‘Rene and the Alligators’. In the so called ‘Indo Rock’ scene, this legendary band had many instrumental hits all over the world. Especially ‘Guitar Boogie’ is still one of the classics in the Dutch pop history. From the beginning untill 1967, they had many hits all over Europe; Limelight, Gipsy Rock, (1962) — Heisser Sand, In the Mood, Guitar Boogie (1963) — La Comparsa, Two Guitars, My Happiness (1964) — Black Swan, Dansevise, Telstar (1965) — Eurovisie Mars, 12th Street Rag, She Broke my Heart (1966). In 1977 female singer Renée joined the band and they changed the name of the band into «Renée». From 1978 the band is very succesfull in Holland and the rest of Europe and many tv appearences followed.
